There are some weddings where every detail feels as though it was chosen with purpose. This beautiful spring celebration at The Plough Inn in Tarrawingee was one of them.

October was the perfect choice. The magnificent wisteria that winds its way through the historic gardens was in full bloom, filling the venue with cascades of purple and creating an unforgettable backdrop and perfume for the day. The ceremony took place beneath what is believed to be the largest and oldest olive tree in the Southern Hemisphere. With its sprawling branches offering shade and its centuries-old presence standing quietly behind them, it was a spectacular place to begin a new chapter together.

Before a ceremony begins, there are always a few butterflies, and this wedding was no different.

While guests were finding their seats, I spent a few moments with the groom, his brother and his great mates. There were plenty of laughs, a few jokes and just enough gentle banter to settle the nerves. By the time everyone took their places beneath the olive tree, the smiles were genuine, the shoulders had relaxed and the groom Tristian was more than ready to see his beautiful bride Courtney, walking towards him.

The bride was surrounded by four incredible women as she walked down the aisle. Three treasured friends stood proudly beside her, joined by her mum, making for a bridal party filled with love, support and plenty of laughter throughout the day.

Waiting beneath the olive tree was the groom with his brother and a group of lifelong mates, all eager to witness the moment he married the woman he loves.

There were two very important members of the wedding party who quickly stole everyone's attention. The couple's young sons took on the role of Ring Security, proudly guarding the wedding rings until they were needed. They carried out their very important job with all the seriousness and charm that only children can bring, earning plenty of smiles from the guests.

Before the rings were exchanged, the couple chose to include a beautiful ring warming ceremony.

Throughout the ceremony, their wedding rings had been held in the hands of Tristian's parents. As they quietly held them, they shared their love, their hopes and their silent blessings for the marriage ahead. When it came time to exchange the rings, I shared these words. "Throughout this ceremony, these rings have been held and warmed by the hands of the groom's parents. They now carry the quiet strength of generations. A blessing from the past, held in the present, for a future built together."



It was one of those simple moments that filled the ceremony with meaning. No grand gestures were needed. Just family, love and the knowledge that every marriage is strengthened by the people who stand beside us.

This is what I love about ceremonies like this. Every couple brings something different. Some choose a reading. Others include music, pets or children. Some create traditions of their own that become one of the most memorable parts of the day.
