A Relaxed Autumn Wedding at Brown Brothers Winery

Brown Bros Winery dip kiss Celebrant Cheryl Warry

Some wedding venues have a certain magic about them, and Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa is definitely one of them.

Set amongst the vineyards of the King Valley, with magnificent old oak trees, beautifully maintained gardens and views stretching across the surrounding countryside, it's easy to see why so many couples choose to begin married life here. Whether you're planning a large celebration or a more intimate gathering, Brown Brothers offers a setting that feels timeless, elegant and unmistakably Australian.

I recently had the privilege of marrying Donna and Jarrod here, and it was one of those weddings that perfectly reflected who they are as a couple. Relaxed, genuine, full of laughter and surrounded by the people who matter most.

A Ceremony That Felt Like Them

One of the things I love most about being a marriage celebrant is that no two ceremonies are ever the same.

Donna and Jarrod wanted a ceremony that felt warm, personal and welcoming. They weren't looking for anything over the top. Instead, they wanted their family and friends to feel like they were part of the moment rather than simply watching it unfold.

As their guests gathered beneath the beautiful oak trees, there was an excitement in the air that only a winery wedding seems to create. The combination of the vineyards, the fresh country air and the relaxed atmosphere immediately puts everyone at ease.

Their ceremony included plenty of smiles, a few happy tears and lots of laughter. It was exactly what a wedding ceremony should be. Personal, heartfelt and memorable.

Why I Love Weddings at Brown Brothers Winery

Having officiated weddings across North East Victoria, Brown Brothers continues to be one of my favourite venues.

What makes it so special?

  • The iconic oak tree creates a stunning natural ceremony space.
  • The vineyard views provide beautiful backdrops in every season.
  • Guests can relax and enjoy the gardens while the bridal party has photographs taken.
  • The historic barn offers a seamless transition from ceremony to reception.
  • Everything is conveniently located in one place, making the day flow effortlessly for everyone involved.

As a celebrant, I also appreciate how well the venue is managed. The team, particularly the event manager Taylah work seamlessly with photographers, musicians, florists and other suppliers, allowing couples to simply enjoy their day.

A Day Filled With Family

One of my favourite moments from Donna and Jarrod's wedding was seeing just how involved their family and friends were throughout the ceremony.

Every wedding has its own personality, and theirs was built around connection. There were plenty of laughs, emotional moments and genuine happiness from everyone present. Those are the ceremonies I love creating most because they never feel scripted. They simply tell the story of two people and the journey that brought them to this day.

Thinking About Getting Married at Brown Brothers?

If you're considering a Brown Brothers Winery wedding, you're choosing one of the most iconic wedding venues in the King Valley.

Whether you're planning an intimate celebration or a large gathering, the venue offers incredible ceremony locations, exceptional food and wine, and beautiful opportunities for photography throughout the day.

As a local marriage celebrant based in North East Victoria, I've been fortunate to marry many couples throughout the region. Knowing the venues, understanding how each location works and working alongside experienced local wedding suppliers helps ensure your ceremony is relaxed, enjoyable and completely focused on the two of you.

Every ceremony I write is created from scratch because every couple has their own story to tell.

If you're planning your Brown Brothers wedding and are looking for a celebrant who will create a ceremony that's warm, engaging and genuinely reflects who you are, I'd love to be part of your day.

Cheryl's Venue Tip | Brown Bros

One of the things I love most about weddings at Brown Brothers is the incredible variety of photo locations, all within easy walking distance. My advice is to build just a little breathing room into your timeline after the ceremony. It gives you the chance to wander through the vineyards, beneath the magnificent oak trees and around the gardens without feeling rushed. Those few extra minutes often become some of the most relaxed and natural photographs of the entire day, while your guests are happily enjoying a glass of King Valley wine and soaking up the atmosphere.
